Tamil Nadu CM announces Pongal hamper and Rs 2,500 for rice cardholders

Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy announced a special Pongal gift package and a cash incentive of Rs 2,500. This for each of the 2.06 crore rice cardholders in the state. Each gift hamper contains one kg of raw rice, one kg of sugar, a piece of sugarcane, 20 gram of cashew, 20 gram of dry grapes and 5 gram of cardamom.
Similarly in 2019, the chief minister announced a Rs 1,000 Pongal cash gift for each cardholder.
